Explaining the breadth and differentiation of Wabtec CPT’s portfolio has never been easy. With a wide range of technologies and solutions, translating our value into a clear, engaging narrative for customers and how to present by sales teams has long been a challenge. That’s why, in 2022, we set out to change this. 

We began developing a digital application designed to showcase CPT’s capabilities in a more intuitive and visually compelling way. Early prototypes, combined with hands-on interactions with sales teams and customers, generated positive feedback.

It was clear we were onto something, so we kept building. Year by year, the application has evolved. We enriched it with more 3D digital assets, expanding the port ecosystem to reflect real-world complexity. Beyond core port operations, we introduced additional elements such as buses, marine engines (from Wabtec Freight Equipment), highlighting how our solutions connect across the broader transport landscape. 

As the Port Scene grew, built on the Charta5 platform, it also became more demanding. Performance challenges started to emerge, even with Cloudflare hosting, and managing offline versions became increasingly complex. In 2026, we took the next big step. We transitioned the 3D environment to Unreal Engine, unlocking a new level of performance and visual quality.

At the same time, we introduced a Progressive Web App (PWA) approach. This enables seamless online access, simplified version management, and, critically, offline usability, allowing sales teams to present the application anywhere, even without an internet connection. The result is the latest version of our Port Scene Marine Electrification first unveiled at the Advanced Maritime Technology event in Amsterdam 16-18 June 2026.
