Mors Smitt partners with SelectRail 

Mors Smitt, part of Wabtec, has entered into an agreement with Selectrail Australia Pty Ltd to distribute their leading-edge solid-state signalling relays across the UK, Europe, South Africa, India and Hong Kong.  

This collaboration expands the existing product portfolio and reinforces Mors Smitt’s strong position as a leading supplier of relays for railway applications.

By integrating innovative technology, the offering supports safer, more reliable and future-ready rail systems. 

Innovation Day With Trenitalia

On April 28, we hosted an Innovation Day with Trenitalia at our  plant in Casalecchio di Reno (Bologna), Italy.

Designed as an immersive and interactive experience, the event fostered close collaboration through three thematic “railway stations” showcasing key innovations for the rail ecosystem.

The agenda featured technical deep dives and demonstrations across antifire and HVAC solutions, braking and train control technologies, digital and cybersecurity, as well as key rail components.

Transversal Initiatives

Asia Pacific Rail Tradeshow in Thailand

The joint presence of Wabtec and Dellner at Asia Pacific Rail, held in Bangkok, Thailand on 6-7 of May 2026, highlighted the “Stronger Together” transition branding, presenting both companies as one united team with a single integrated offering. 

Sharing a common booth with cohesive visuals and aligned messaging reinforced the combined strengths, close collaboration, and commitment to deliver enhanced solutions and support to customers across the rail industry. 

The booth was located within the German Pavilion, a strategic choice that balanced cost efficiency with strong visibility and high visitor traffic throughout the event. 

TSG Forecasting Goes Digital: A New Automated Process

Starting in July, TSG will move from a manual Excel-based Order Intake forecast to a fully automated, data-driven process powered by Power BI. 

The new dashboard will combine real-time actuals from OneStream and forecasts from CRM, with Sales teams updating their projections directly in the system. 

This shift will improve forecast accuracy, strengthen data quality, and increase efficiency by eliminating manual updates, marking a key step toward a more reliable and scalable forecasting approach for TSG.

Driving Forward with DB FZI on ICE 4

Optimization

Led by Louis Waroquier, a Wabtec Services delegation joined DB Fahrzeuginstandhaltung (DB FZI) in May 2026, in Dessau for a dedicated workshop on improving the serviceability and maintainability of the ICE 4 fleet. Together, teams explored optimization opportunities and defined key workstreams to enhance services and portfolio performance. 

The workshop highlighted the strong trust and openness between both partners, building on the Next-Level Partnership established earlier this year, with new opportunities such as a potential shop-in-shop solution now under consideration.

Wabtec Showcases Innovation and Reliability at MOBCO Paris 2026

At MOBCO Paris in June 2026, Wabtec showcased its solutions at a dedicated booth, reaffirming its long-term commitment to customers through reliable video surveillance systems. This message strongly resonated, especially in a context where supplier reliability and long-term support are critical.

The event also highlighted innovations such as the compact XEBRA 5 video recorder, the iSmart Ceiling Display for tramways, 3D-printed parts, and CPT charging solutions, all well received by visitors. 

Power Collection

Wind Industry: structuring our sales approach

With brushes for wind industry being one of the main growth focus for the Power Collection product line, our marketing actions aim to position these solutions clearly in a competitive environment and stand out with strong value and quality.
Based on a detailed market and competition analysis for wind brushes, we defined a clear product positioning and key differentiators in collaboration with engineering.

On that basis, a full set of sales materials has been developed (target operators, sales guide, brochure, outreach templates) to help Sales focus on priority accounts and start discussions with turbine operators and maintenance players.

Sales teams have been trained and are now equipped to approach the market in a more structured and efficient way.

Showcasing Innovation at the APTA Mobility Conference

On 18 of May 2026, the Bus sales team participated in the APTA Mobility Conference held in Utah, one of the largest gatherings in the public transportation industry. During the event, the team showcased the Depot Panto and the Vapor Vision system to a broad audience, creating an opportunity to highlight their features, performance, and real-world applications. 

With over 5,000 attendees present, including industry professionals, decision-makers, and technology experts, the conference provided a valuable platform to engage with potential partners and customers. The demonstrations attracted strong interest, allowing the team to discuss how Wabtec solutions can support more efficient and sustainable transit operations.

Visit to SNCF Technicentre Noisy le Sec, France 

The visit of the marketing team to SNCF Noisy-le-Sec Technicentre showed how complex and well-organized the maintenance of the new RER NG trains is, which are essential for increasing capacity and improving passenger experience. 

Discussions with Alstom highlighted strong collaboration with SNCF, focused on continuous improvement, operational feedback, and adapting maintenance practices, key to ensuring long-term train performance. 

Daily coordination with Wabtec Field Service also stood out, with their fast and proactive responses helping resolve issues quickly and maintain smooth operations.

Overall, the visit demonstrated that strong partnerships, efficient organization, and responsiveness are essential for reliable train operations.

Charging and Power Transfer

The Evolution of Wabtec CPT’s Digital Application 

Explaining the breadth of Wabtec CPT’s portfolio has long been a challenge. Since 2022, we’ve been transforming this complexity into a clear, engaging digital experience, continuously enhancing it with richer 3D environments and broader transport ecosystems.

In 2026, we took a major leap by moving to Unreal Engine and launching a Progressive Web App, enabling smoother performance and offline access. The result is our latest Port Scene, unveiled at the Advanced Maritime Technology event in Amsterdam.

Innovation Day with Italian Metro Operators

​

Wabtec organized on the 9 of June 2026 in Bologna, Italy an innovation day with the following metro operators and agencies : EAV, COTRAL, ATM, ANSFISA.

During the day, teams showed technologies like fire protection systems, energy-saving air conditioning, passenger information screens, and safer platform doors. Everyone shared what works well today and what could be improved in the future. Overall, the event showed that metro companies are very interested in upgrading their existing trains, especially to improve safety and save energy. 

The day helped build strong collaboration and opened the door to future projects where Wabtec and metro operators can work together to improve urban transport in Italy.

Competition Watch: Air Compressors

Our sales team recently took part in a technology training session held on 7 of May and focused on Wabtec compressors, moderated by Angela Ciancitto.

The session gave the team a deeper understanding of the markets' compressor technologies and how they compare. Discussions covered oil-free technology, the Buran CSS, and the key selling points that set our solutions apart, supported by practical battle cards for real-world conversations.  

The outcome is a more knowledgeable and confident sales team, better equipped to translate technical understanding into customer value. Thanks to Angela for leading an informative and well-run session. 

Railway Mobility Conference in Italy

On 21 of May 2026, Wabtec took part in a railway conference in Florence, Italy, focused on emerging digital technologies in rail transport. During the event, Wabtec presented how digital solutions are transforming freight rail by improving safety, efficiency, and maintenance. 

The discussion showed that the industry is moving away from traditional methods toward data-driven and predictive approaches, where real-time monitoring and advanced analytics help detect issues earlier, reduce disruptions, and lower overall costs.

Wabtec also highlighted how digital tools such as sensors, automation, and predictive maintenance systems can extend equipment life, optimize operations, and improve safety by reducing human error.

Showroom Visits and discussions with Deutsche Bahn

Between May and June, Wabtec hosted several key visits at its Schkeuditz site with Deutsche Bahn teams to present its solutions and strengthen collaboration.

During the visit by DB Systemtechnik on 21 of May 2026, discussions and a showroom tour showed that Wabtec’s innovations can significantly reduce total cost of ownership while improving safety, performance, and environmental impact. 

The exchange continued on 2 of June 2026 with Deutsche Bahn’s Technical Procurement team, confirming the strong value and cost-saving potential of Wabtec’s portfolio and encouraging a more open and ongoing partnership. 

Overall, these engagements strengthened relationships and set the stage for deeper collaboration in the future.

Australian Energy Week

Australian Energy Week 2026, held from 9 of June to 12, 2026 in Melbourne, was an excellent opportunity to connect with industry professionals, gain valuable insights, and explore key trends in the energy sector.

We participated as Wabtec Corporation, alongside our sister companies Mors Smitt, RMS, and Fanox. We presented our power industry product portfolio across our three brands. The event featured engaging discussions on innovation, sustainability, and the energy transition, along with valuable networking opportunities.

It was an inspiring and informative experience that reinforced our commitment to supporting the future of energy.

How Wabtec UK Is Transforming Barton

Wabtec UK recently featured on the Green Signals podcast, offering a behind-the-scenes look at our Barton facility and the journey behind our £30m site transformation. 

During the visit, Tim Bentley shared insights into how the site is evolving, what’s changing across the business, and how our people are at the heart of delivering this transformation. 

The episode also features perspectives from apprentices Lola-Mae Rice and Ellie Ritchie, who talk about their experiences at Wabtec so far, working across both workshop and office environments. It’s a genuine, real-world insight into the progress we’ve made — and an exciting look at what lies ahead.
